Tastes

Fairly middling Irish whiskey. Malt, vanilla and butterscotch notes on the nose and palate, a little astringency and nutty sherry notes pop up on the palate, short bittersweet finish.

Nose: Fresh tropical fruits, maraschino cherries, vanilla, chocolate and baking spices. Palate: Semi-sweet, full, vanilla, subdued fruitiness, hints of chocolate, some baking spices and a little marzipan. Finish: Medium with vanilla, chocolate, oak and dried fruit notes.

Nose: Starts out with a strong Dickel 12 mineral note, after a few minutes in the glass it becomes quite sweet and fruity with orange and cherry, there’s also rose hips and musty corn. Palate: Sweet and a little buttery with sharp fruitiness, mineral bitterness and heat. Finish: Long with mineral and fruity notes.

Nose: Dark fruits, caramel, baking spices and floral notes. Palate: Rich, syrupy and semi-sweet with caramel, brown sugar, baking spices, dried fruits, leather and a little heat. Finish: Long with dried fruits, baking spices, caramel, tobacco and leather note.

Nose: Fruity with orange and cherry notes, vanilla, powdered cocoa, leather and light barrel spices. Palate: Viscous with vanilla, dried fruits, leather and hints of chocolate. Finish: Long with dried fruits, vanilla, tobacco and leather note.

On the sweeter side with floral, citrus and woody notes. Feels young and a little spirity. Decent, but I think would benefit from more age in the barrel.

Nice entry point Japanese whiskey. Somewhat complex with honey, fruits, herbs and barrel spices. Medium length finish.

Neck pour is very impressive. Melon, honey, vanilla and light nutty notes, semi-sweet, velvety and rich on the palate, with subdued melon, peaches, vanilla and honey, the ABV feels spot on, medium length finish carries warm honey, stone fruit notes and a little heat.

An Islay Single Malt, NAS, bottled at 50 ABV, other that that, not much info to be found. It’s got sea salt, vegetal peat, vanillla and caramel on the nose and palate, a little bitterness and heat on the medium finish. Reminds me Kilchoman Machir Bay more than anything else.

Batch 49. Pleasant, easy drinker with vanilla and soft, fruity notes on the nose, semi-sweet and slick on the palate with vanilla and Chardonnay like notes, medium length finish with toasted oak and light vanilla.
