Glenmorangie Nectar D'or 12 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed August 28, 2019 (edited September 2, 2019)Stone fruit, lemon with a hint of smoke and oaky chardonnay on the nose, the palate is smooth and creamy, a little nutty and oaky, the light smoke makes a reprise on the medium length finish. This was quite hot when first tasted, after it sat for 1/2 hour the heat dissipated. -

Glen Fohdry 12 Year Aiteal an Òir Single Malt
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed August 27, 2019 (edited December 29, 2021)Let this one breath a long time. Salted carmel, apples and oak on the nose, the salted Carmel and apples continue on the creamy palate, the finish is hot for a 12 year old, oaky and medium length. A splash of water turns everything oaky, better off without it. -

Singleton of Auchroisk
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed August 20, 2019 (edited August 21, 2019)Found this today at a little out of the way liquor store near the job site for about $60. On the bottle it says was distilled in 1983 and bottled in 1994 at 43% abv. Couldn't find much info on it, so I took a gamble and hoped it was good. For the initial tasting I get orchard fruit, sherry, a little oak, some honey and slight anise on the nose, the palate is creamy, rich, warm and smooth, the finish is longish and very pleasant with some raisin notes. Overall, I am very happy with this whiskey purchase. I may have to go back and buy the other 3 bottles. -
