Initial nose was typical Jim Beam. After sitting for 10 minutes it revealed hibiscus flower, honey, cloves, spicy rye and peanut shells. The palate is smooth, mild caramel. The finish is medium length a little spicy with a slight bitterness. This did not age well. Finish became too bitter for me to enjoy. Drain poured the last half.

Hamiltons Islay Blended Malt
Blended Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed July 21, 2019 (edited December 11, 2019)Heavy peat smoke with brine and caramel on the nose, the smokey peat and sweet caramel on the palate don’t really mesh, smokey, spicy medium finish. A splash of water mutes the smoke on the nose and helps blend and smooth out the palate, it also tames the finish a little.
