Tastes

The nose is very fresh and aromatic with smells of ripe apple, lawn clippings, and pear. The palate is full and fairly zesty. Flavour notes of orange peel, honey and lemon. Medium length finish with a hint of baking spices.

Bubblegum nose up front with minor notes of stone fruit. Quite a sweet and sugary palate, notes of liquorice and cola. Fades into a classic rye spice finish. Very flavourful all the way through, I get all the hype.

Took some time to open up. Very spicy nose. Baking spice and butterscotch appear with time, as well as a fruitiness. The palate is a little syrupy and fruity. Some water toned toned down the harshness and brought out some nice vegetal and extra fruity notes. The finish is long and satisfying.

What a great nose! Vanilla, red fruit like raspberry, brown sugar, syrup. The syrupy red fruit continue into the palate with an added sherried creaminess. Pepper and sweet baking spices are the finishing notes here.

Very fruity on the nose, apples and cherries. Shortbread and pear on the palate, finishing with some baking spices.

Smells strongly of citrus fruit and shortbread. Crisp and refreshing on the palate with a bit of a lemon zest. Finishes with a light spice. Pretty nice for a young whisky.

A very fruity Ardbeg. Smells of obvious Ardbeg smoke with sugar plums and grape. A somewhat subdued palate that has a fading dark fruit/orchard fruit flavour with a strong salt. Finishes peppery with liquorice and sour cherry.

A younger dram, with a nose consisting of cinnamon, smoke, clove and banana. Palate is sugary sweet with vanilla, fading quickly into the smoky, briny Ardbeg you’re used to. Finishes very hot and like black pepper.

Pretty spicy and peppery whisky. Maple and nutty on the nose. Sweet caramel and strong vanilla flavour on the palate. Long-lasting fruitiness of candy apples lingers into the finish. More flavours present themselves after each sip.
