Parker's Heritage Single Barrel Bourbon 11 Year
Bourbon — Kentucky , USA
Reviewed August 25, 2018 (edited September 11, 2018)Golden amber in color. Intense spicy oak on the nose. Manageable at cask strength but water really opens up the nose. More toffee and caramel and sweet fruit. Tons of flavor on the palate, all things expected from a cask strength Heaven Hill product. Very Elijah Craig-ish in nature. The finish is long lasting with some white pepper and more bitter oak, neither of which are a bad thing! Highly recommended22.0 USD per Pour -
Parker's Heritage Single Barrel Bourbon 11 Year
Bourbon — Kentucky , USA
Reviewed June 11, 2018 (edited September 18, 2018)Now this is what bourbon should taste like! Probably one of my favorite drams. Reminds me of Elijah Craig Barrel Proof, but bumped up a notch. Approachable without water, but even just a few drops really open up the nose and show what an impressive job Heaven Hill has done. -
Glendronach 1993 25 Year Hand-Filled Manager's Cask 400
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed May 19, 2018 (edited June 9, 2018)Picked one of these up back in January while visiting the distillery. My bottle is 24 years, 11 months and 2 weeks old, damn the bad luck of going to Scotland 2 weeks early! Truly incredible whisky, Glendronach is masterful at selecting casks for these and the single cask bottlings. Dark fruit prevails, of course, but the malty backbone that runs under all Glendronach juice is there and really rounds it out. Toffee, caramel, milk chocolate and insert any dark fruit you can imagine. The prize of my whisky collection! -
GlenDronach Cask Strength Batch 1
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed January 24, 2018 (edited June 9, 2018)Batch #6- Delicious stuff, this is what the 12 yo could be with a slightly higher abv. PX and oloroso play really well together and make for what’s definitely a younger whisky, but one that has more punch and complexity due to the 55% abv. Great drinker! -
GlenDronach Allardice 18 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed January 24, 2018 (edited June 9, 2018)The least impressive of the range, and having tried over 10 different glendronach’s, I feel it’s fair to make this statement. The nose is nice, nothing like the 15, but still juicy fruit and sherry, the palate is missing something, still decidedly Glendronach but feels like it’s becoming choked out by the oak. The finish is quite drying and leaves your tongue very dry. Pricy for what the juice is, but kudos for keeping age statements.
