Compass Box The Peat Monster (Classic Brown Label)
Blended Malt — Scotland
Reviewed February 20, 2020N: Strong peat, obviously. P: Bright and berries. F: 1 dimensional. Overall light in feel, but dense peat. Not bad but not amazing. -
N: Light peaty wood smoke. Campbelltown funk/sour note. Tea or tobacco at the end. P: So many flavors. Citrus. Sweet. Malty back bone. F: Long and complex. Sweet and spicy. Have only had the SB 10 before this but this is everything I loved about that in terms of overall notes. I got peaches and cream in the 10 but not really on this. Great first impression.

Teeling Single Grain Whiskey
Single Grain — Ireland
Reviewed February 14, 2020 (edited March 6, 2020)Berry lemonade on the nose after the first sip. Smelled like moonshine before that. Creamy taste and decent finish. Not overly impressed but very different than the small batch and single malt.
