M&H APEX Pomegranate Wine Cask
Single Malt — Israel
Reviewed November 15, 2022 (edited November 16, 2022)This is the definition of a distillery with promise and this edition proves it. Clearly young at 3 years and sharp at 60% but a light and inviting nose, a full and and sweet palate that would shine with a few more years in the barrel! A short but pleasant finish and a very strong showing for M&H and Israeli whisky! The Franklin Room -
Nose: the nose hits you with earthy smoke. A earthy smell I have never experienced in such potency but yet, so delightful! Honey baked ham is the next thing you get, it is simply beautiful! Even hints of slightly burnt hotdogs, and a handful of other wonderful meats. Palate: leathery, the earthy notes stay with a slightly sweet, with a surprisingly quick spice note that greats you on the way down. A little iodine. Finish. Smoooooookeeeeee beautiful smoke A lovely octomore! The Franklin Room
