Wow, 30 year Bunna! What an experience! The years in the barrel brought out a sulfur note that reminded me immediately of a volcano for some reason. The nose was pretty subdued, but it was so oily and mouth coating! Taste wise, i prefer the rest of the Bunna line, especially the 18. But this was definitely a unique and special experience.

Ardnamurchan AD/12:16 First Fill ex PX Sherry Hogshead # 1322 Binny's
Single Malt — Highland, Scotland
Reviewed September 17, 2024 (edited October 13, 2024)A beautiful sherry forward powerhouse! The PX gives great fruity sweetness, but the suprise was finding mangos and pinapples on the palate along with the expected sherry nutty, plum, and dark sherry notes. The ardnamurchan distillate still shines and leaves a delicious and spicy finish that makes the sides if your mouth water. Was great in a side by side with the standard AD/ release! No peat, no problem with this cask strength gem! -
Lagavulin Distillers Edition
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed August 9, 2024 (edited August 11, 2024)A absolutely lovely Lagavulin with the sweet PX casks balancing the smoke and rounding out this whiskey beautifully! My only wish was that this was a higher ABV… 43% leaves me begging for them to stop holding this back! Nose was a perfectly balanced PX raisen syrup sweetness with the earthy Islay peat Laga is known for. Palate is more of the same but less someky and noticably less salty than the 16 or 8 for that matter. Great fruity finish, hints of wet smoke ash sprinkled in masterfuly. Just missing the light minty lift off the 16 has. -
Glenglassaugh Torfa
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed July 23, 2024 (edited August 11, 2024)Lovely glenglassaugh distillate shines along side the peated barley. Buttery sweetness starts and guves way to a lightly smokey and salty finish.9.0 USD per Pour -
An incredible nose! So rich and complex, one of my favorite noses if all time! The palate is good but leaves lots of the sweetness out that added the complexity to the nose that i loved. The palate leaves a bit to be desired compared to the nose. And finished well brining back some of those nose notes. Nose: smokey sweet red wine, raisins, slight hint of spice, mental picture is a ham covered in a sweet jam and then baked. Incredible nose. Briskety goodness. Palate: smokey and light molasses. Classic Laphroaig with peat, and spice, but higher abv 48% and raisins from the sherry. Finish: medium, returns back to the nose in taste.12.0 USD per PourThe Franklin Room

A lovely complex smoky nose that seems to have a fairlly simple palate and medium short finish. Solid and enjoyable, but not much there to dig through. Nose: lavaulin bacon, port charlote vanilla, slight cambketown funk, barley must, Palate: spicy with a nice peat base, Finish: burnt rubber, wet farm vibes. Medium short finish.9.0 USD per BottleThe Franklin Room
