Strong. Crisp. Green fruit from nose to finish. Nose: a bit to sharp from the high APV bottled at 50%. Incredibly aromatic with strong green fruit. Palate: is in attack mode as well but has a sweetness to it. Finish: long, fruity, almost bittersweet, slightly salty. Not a passive drink but hits the spot. $17/pour, $51/bottle51.0 USD per Bottle

Highland Park 12 Year
Single Malt — Islands, Scotland
Reviewed April 15, 2019 (edited April 27, 2024)The environment made it difficult to focus. Sweet and smoky nose. The palate was mixed, unable to differentiate at my current tasting level. Strong smoke on the way down (20 ppm), seemed to be short of flavor. The finish was saddeningly quicker than expected. Yet there is hope in a second tasting on this classic malt. $16/pour, $55/bottle16.0 USD per BottleThe Franklin Room -
Macallan 12 Year Sherry Oak Cask
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed April 9, 2019 (edited May 13, 2019)Sherry thru and thru. Nose is full, sweet, and inviting. Fruity with a little friendly spice. Palate is soft, not complex, similar to the nose, a sweet fruit with a friendly spice at the end. Finish is not long but very pleasant. $17/pour, $70/bottle.70.0 USD per Bottle -
Lightly peated (2-3 ppm) the nose is bright with a caramelized sweet but slightly aggressive fruit. The palate was lacking, some earthy notes, darker flavors that were hard to distinguish. No peat till the backend, and on swallowing the peat shows it’s face again coming up through the nostrils. The finish is slightly smoky, but seemed to lack in other flavor notes. Decent, and a good little initiation into peat, but way to overpriced for me to return to. $20/pour, $80/bottle20.0 USD per BottleFado Irish Pub
