Tastes

Being in Cincinnati this is the local juice (just across the river). I’m a fan but I had forgotten how rye forward this was. It’s got a minty, medicinal finish to it. Overall a solid bourbon. I’d be interested to taste their rye whiskey.

My first Blanton’s. Best rye bourbon I’ve had. It’s incredibly smooth and full flavored at the same time. Slightly spicy. If it was attainable it would be a go-to.

Easy to drink, classic sweet wheated taste, leathery. I’m excited for them to get a few more years into this bourbon. It’s already good with a 2 year age statement.

Love this bourbon. Sweet but just a little rye flavor gives it a full profile. One of my favorites.

Oaky nose. Very sweet and smooth taste. No harsh flavors, classic wheated taste.

Spicy, full flavors. Similar to the small batch but less sweet and higher proof. Great bourbon!

Pretty good. A little alcohol forward but it is 100 proof. Lots of spice and some oak. Not too sweet. Not at the top of my list but I’ll keep a bottle for when I’m in the mood for a spicy 100 proof.

Very smooth. Pretty complex for a bourbon this smooth. Lots of sweet notes, fruity, leathery, full bodied. Easy drinker and one of my favorites.

Full and spicy

Not as spicy as I anticipated. I am getting a lot of minty notes which I don’t love. Compared back to back with four roses small batch bourbon and this doesn’t hold up, granted it’s a little cheaper. It’s drinkable and a change of pace but it’s not one of my top neat whiskeys. I can imagine it making a good cocktail which is probably in line with the intent of the drink.
