Tastes

The nose presents strong oak first and foremost. Some banana as well. The taste presents after overcoming the initial alcohol burn. It’s a great blend of spice and sweetness. Again with an oak taste. It’s got a bit of a bite neat but dash of water opens it up.

Smooth and tasty. I typically don’t love rye but this is up there with the best bourbons. The nose is minty and sweet. Taste is thick and comes with more mint. The proof isn’t overpowering but you can tell it’s there, numbing the roof of your mouth after a few sips. Finishes down with a classic “Kentucky hug”

Nose is a musty floral/spearmint and isn’t very hot. The taste is very minty with some spice and has a bit more heat numbing the roof of my mouth. Not a lot of classic sweet oak bourbon taste (maybe a sign that it’s a younger bourbon) but still very pleasant and complex taste. I’d imagine it would be great in a mint mixed drink.

Very sweet. Can taste some rye but not too much. Tastes like candy (maple syrup?). I like it but there are better low rye bourbons for the price. The bottle is unique. That’s trivial to most but I appreciate the packaging.

128.4 proof without any alcohol burn at all. It’s great bourbon to sip on. Cherry, oak, good blend of subtle spice and sweetness. Biggest downside is that this pour will set me on the endless quest for a bottle 🙃

Spicy sweet caramel. Love it

Rye spice, smoky, leathery, not overly sweet for a bourbon. Plenty of alcohol as you’d expect. Opens up to more flavor with a bit of water.

Strong banana on the nose. Banana, sugar, and oak taste. Does not taste refined or particularly complex but it’s a good easy drink none the less. Worth keeping around when I’m in the mood for an easy wheater.

Nose is super unique. The fruity wine pops out. Not much heat. Not at all like a typical bourbon smell. Very smooth and interesting to drink. Again, the fruit sticks out. The sweet corn and oaky bourbon taste is still there though. Very enjoyable. A good blend of the unique wine barrels while still leaving some of the classic bourbon taste. Love it as a pleasant change of pace when you’re in the mood for an easy drinker.

Great batched bourbon. Full bodied. Oak, a little bit of heat and spice, sweet. Packs a lot of flavor. If it was $10 cheaper it would be a go-to daily drinker.
