Aberfeldy 12 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed January 29, 2017 (edited February 2, 2017)Very smooth but quite insipid. Might as well drink a Dewar's blend. But then that is what the bulk of it is used for. Visited the Distillery in November 2016 and was allowed to taste the whole range. The 16 and 21 year olds are excellent. The 25 and 28 year olds not as appealing. But the star was the 1998 Single Cask (cask 135) they had just bottled that month. Not cheap at £120, but well worth it. -
Singleton of Dufftown 12 Year
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed January 29, 2017 (edited March 24, 2017)Pleasant and sweet. Accessible to new whisky drinkers -
Auchentoshan American Oak
Single Malt — Lowlands, Scotland
Reviewed January 29, 2017 (edited August 18, 2017)Rather insipid. Tastes like a watered down blend of Jack Daniels and Johnnie Walker Red. Do not try it with ice or a bit of water. It just disintegrates.
