Auchentoshan Three Wood
Single Malt — Lowlands, Scotland
Reviewed February 2, 2017 (edited April 24, 2018)Confusing. First impressions are that of Christmas cake, fruity, dark sugar and cinnamon. Very full and smooth. Dark rich colour. But not sure I like it. Reading the comments of others, it appears that this dram elicits very mixed opinions. Perhaps the use of three woods that complicates matters. Far prefer the cheaper 12 year old. -
Auchentoshan 12 Year
Single Malt — Lowlands, Scotland
Reviewed February 2, 2017 (edited September 21, 2019)Having now bought the American Oak and Three Wood as well, this is by far the best of the three. The reviewers refer to a cereal taste. We found it perfect with a bowl of Scottish porridge with cream and dark sugar. The cinnamon and honey flavors of the dram really shine through. Very smooth too. -
Loch Lomond Single Grain
Single Grain — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed February 2, 2017 (edited November 17, 2019)Sweet and fruity. My wife says it tastes like caramel. Improves with a block of ice or two. This is based on a 46% bottling done for Checkers in South Africa. Very good value at $17 locally.
