Oh my god this was a bad whisky. A expensive (250$) beautiful bottle, Macallan Aera Royal Black is a expression that only came out for the taiwan travel exclusive market, in order for Macallan to enter that country with strength... i dont think they have accomplished it. I am not a fond fan of Macallan but i did not expect it to be so bad. I organized a tasting event and this was the main attraction... and it dissapointed everyone. Bottled at 40%abv On the nose, it WAS AMAZING. and that is how it scored the only 2 stars it has. White Kit Kat chocolate, pineapple, grapefruit, Lime, old pineapple slices, sawdust. On the palate, it was not good. There is some very dim almonds and white chocolate somewhere there but it is mostly WATER AND LETTUCE. Have you ever found Lettuce notes in your whisky? Well they are just bad. There is no aftertaste. Note one note. Is like drinking water. ZERO POINTS. Not one note. Overall this is terrible. If it weren't for the nose, this whisky could even have a lower score. I was in a tasting event, so 20 people agree on this. Luckily we had another 3 drams, and that saved the night. This is one of the worst whiskies i have ever had, avoid it, dont waste your money. 43 over 100 (scoring notes: nose 23, palate 10, finish 0, balance 10).

Wtf i just drank? Nobushi is a blended japanese whisky with a nice looking bottle of a NOBUSHI which seems to be some kind of selected peasant warriors from the land of the rising sun. This is a blend from the Hokkaido, Nagano and Miyagi district. The result is.... nothing. Lets start. Bottled at 40%abv, burnished gold color. On the nose: odd from the very first moment you open the bottle. There is this cheap lemon / air freshener for cars aroma. Rice, fermented fruits and a cheap dried fruit aroma. Grain whisky. AND THIS WAS THE BEST PART. Then, the palate. It is water With a touch of vainilla and a very dim grape note. Aftertaste is awful. Corn and acetone. Feels very young and grainy. This is the remain of some grain whisky distillation. Overall, this is something you must avoid unless you are going to trick some non-drinkers into believing this dram is some kind of "an acquired taste" and you are some kind of a Connoisseur, hahaha. 45 out of 100 and it really should have a lower score. Kanpai!

No. This is not a joke. This is Wayne Gretzky's whisky. Nobody knows what ice casks means nor is important. A canadian whisky, made by "Wayne Gretzky's estates". For you who dont know who Wayne Gretzky is, he is the Pelé or Maradona of ice Hockey. Bottled at 41.5%abv On the nose, RYE. Lots of it. Rye spiciness, grain, herbal notes and molasses. Its like rum and rye whisky mixed together. After the first sip, maple syrup notes appeared on the nose. On the palate, very straightforward: rye spiciness and bitter prunes. Aftertaste is full of chilli. Overall this is something i wouldn't buy, but an interesting whisky to come by, to know what sports stars are up to these days. 58 over 100.

Wild Turkey Kentucky Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 26, 2020 (edited March 31, 2021)I have had the 101 Wild Turkey and i remember that one been a good dram, well this is not my kind of bourbon. Way too herbal, oaky and burning. Bottled at 40.5%abv On the nose it has the typical bourbon notes but not as pleasant. Prunes. A Stinky bourbon note, Banana, Cinamon and vanilla. On the palate is too herbal and unpleasant, for me. Caramel, Herbal Clove unpleasant. much too herbal. Very young oak. The finish is too cloying. Overall i give this dram an 56 over 100. Some people might like it, not my case. -
Wow this is terrible. It is my first West Cork and it failed to be everything that it announced to contain: it says sherry finished, but it doesn't tastes like any sherry; it says 43%abv, it feels like 12%abv. It has a very golden color, no reddish sherried colour whatsoever. On the nose it is very fruity, but fails to be interesting. First sniff is full of acetone, to then reveal yellow apples, pineapple, cheap lemon air freshener, apple juice, NO SHERRY AT ALL. On the palate, it is lame. The first note i got was an old stored box, like old cardboard with straws inside. A very dim apple note, and water. Way too watery. Aftertaste is nothing. Ginger and water. A complete dissapointment. Overall this is a very forgettable dram. Nose helps it a little bit but not enough to even reach a 2.5 score. 48 over a 100, avoid it.

I am going to be as honest as possible here: DO NOT BUY THIS. This is not even Japanese Whisky, is scottish matured in japan. Even the NAS expression is better. Pale Straw color, 40%abv. On the nose, it is nothing. Rice and soap. But very dim. On the palate is spicy with maybe a wasabi/chilli note. Aftertaste is short with a small peat note and pepper. Overall i give this dram a very low score: 48/100. Not recommended.

A total dissapointment. This review is actually for the Miyagikyo Single Malt NAS 45%abv. Good on the nose but completely regular on the palate. Bottled at 45%abv On the nose, Burnt cake crest, Pears, super fresh; Beautiful vanilla. Fondant. Pear juice. Very clean very fresh, Hints of coconut. On the palate, super boring. Pepper, A little vanilla. Very alcoholic and cerealic. Maybe a coconut note. Feels cheap. Aftertaste is harsh. Cereal /alcoholic. Ginger and a very little hint of chocolate. Dry overall. This whisky feels cheap. Even if it has a decent aroma, the flavor is nothing. Too young and harsh. 55 over 100.

Absolutely dissapointing. First blended malt that lets me down. On the nose is better than in the palate. On the nose you get old plum, vanilla, something that resembles peat maybe and not much more. On the palate is very inferior, the first seconds is nothing. Is like drinking water. After a couple of seconds you get this strong oak wood sensation, very spicy, strong for the palate but not pleasant. Finish is slightly better and refreshing. Over all of it there is some herbal notes but nothing marvelous

What a dissapointment. I really liked the 12yo and i just had the amazing 21yo but this is a ghost compared to those two. I am not a great fan of fruity whiskies and this is an irish that resembles a speysider. 46%abv. On the nose there is this dim chocolate note mixed with fruits. Is like chocolate mixed with sider. Green apples and that is it. On the palate: apples and chocolate. It feels like an oily sider. Not good. Aftertaste is watery. Hate when that happens. A hint of clove. Had to add a couple drops of water to see if it gets better. It improved the whiskey a lot. Caramel and tobacco appeared on the nose. On the palate some typical grain whiskey vanilla showed up. Clove got a little better on the aftertaste. Overall, i dont want to be harsh but this one has a good reputation and it didn't live up to it for me. Sorry but this is a 52 over 100 in my score system.

Terrible. This is one of Macallan's newest expressions, the ones that replaced the 1824 series. I have had the "terra" before and that was a standard Macallan, with an 8 out of 10 score. This one.... well... don't buy it. The bottle is quite beautiful and intimidating, when you open this big monster bottle you find yourself with a very small rare cork. Well, that feels weird but nothing to bother the whisky. Bottled at 40%abv, burnished gold color. As soon as you nose it, you get that "dulce de leche - milky way chocolate" aroma, typical from Macallan. You try to find something else, maybe prunes or hot coffee notes are there. Not much else happening. On the palate is absolutely dissapointing. Nutty, almonds, oak, in an unbalanced, unpleasant and boring way. As you know, nutty flavors can come from a heavy, rapid distillation and a short fermentation. Seems to me that they did not put their best efforts on this one and definitively feels as a cheap whisky, NOT THE FINEST CUT. Aftertaste is a little oaky and maybe some boring spicyness. I could not believe how bad this was, i was with 4 other people and we all agree it was terrible. I had to add water to see if something happened, and guess what, two drops of water turns it into...... WATER. PLAIN WATER. Overall i give this dram a 60 over 100 and may God have mercy on its soul. P.S. piece of advice: after this horrible experience, pour yourself a talisker, you will feel a lot better.
