Jefferson's Very Small Batch Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 24, 2020 (edited May 20, 2020)I have been looking forward to taste this dram for a long time, and after i finally did i might not be interested in having it again. It is not a bad dram, but definitively nothing special. Bottled at 41.2%abv (¿?); burnished color. On the nosqe it is quite perfumed, promising something better, but not delivering that promise. Grapes, bananas, cinnamon, artificial grape juice, some herbal notes like chamomile are the main notes. Not bad at all. On the palate, you can find almonds, old wood, oak, vanilla, oranges and little tomatoes ("tomatillo" in spanish), and a spicy flavor like chilli but in a gentle way. The finish is short-medium and not very appealing. Overall it is a 79 over a 100. A normal bourbon, and you can get a lot better drams than this one. -
This is a nice/normal dram, appealing in the nose but fails to deliver in the palate. It is kind of an experiment from jameson to mature the whiskey (with an "e") in stout beer barrels. Bottled at 40% abv amber color. On the nose, hay, forest, hops (like beer), beer foam, cream, latex and coffee. Interesting, fragant, very appealing. On the palate, as i said befor things start to fall apart (this is not an expensive whisky, so it was kind of fair for this to happen). Notes of chocolate but mostly rye grain, with a spicy rye finish, long. Not my cup of tea. Overall i give this dram a fair score of 77 over 100, irish whiskies are still a bit unexplored by me, i need to improve the bottles i buy in the search for the perfect irish Whiskey.

Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Select
Tennessee Whiskey — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed April 24, 2020 (edited May 6, 2020)In Jack Daniels family, i tend to think that Old No.7 es the cheaper core version, followed by the Gentleman Jack, finds this Jack Daniels Single Barrel in a third more fancy place. Bottled at 45%, with a polished mahogany color. As soon as you open the bottle, you will notice this is a more perfumed, elegant version of the traditional Old No.7 Jack Daniels. On the nose is very appealing, with the classic grape and winey notes of Jack Daniel's, but also with wet forest, Caramel, lemon peel and homemade vanilla Cake notes. Quite beautiful Aroma. On the palate is not that pleasant at least for me, making this dram the less desirable of the 3 core expressions of JD. As soon as you taste it, there is this full bitter sensation, mixed with oakyness. The body is medium-full with a sour note mixed with old purple grape peel, then kicks in a spice bomb that resembles a mixture of wasabi, pepper and ashes, which is too rough for me. The finish is long, comes from inside your throat to your mouth, with a solid cough syrup note, that you can chew a little. Overall it felt like a strong spicy wine. I know some will love it, but it is not my type of dram, and i consider myself a Jack Daniel's fan. 75 out of 100. -
Jack Daniel's Tennessee Honey
Other Liqueurs — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed April 24, 2020 (edited October 29, 2020)Amazing on the nose and in the palate. Honey and coffee in the nose. Honey, chocolate and a little wooden flavor. No kick. It is tricky, can get you drunk. the problem is that it doesnt feel like it is a whiskey (and it is not). -
Jack Daniel's Sinatra Select
Tennessee Whiskey — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed April 24, 2020 (edited May 6, 2020)Im on vacations and i can get my hands on some special whiskies. This one is the case. The Sinatra expression of Jack Daniel's is very very very alike the old No. 7, but smoother. That would be the perfect description for it. 45%abv, amber color. On the nose: is just like the old no. 7 but with hints of smoke. Prunes and that typical sweet/sourness from JD. On the palate: also a lot like the standard old no. 7 but Smoother. Spicier, peppery but pleasant. Sour but not Too sour. Very easy to drink. Finish is a little oaky, also very smooth. Actually a nice version of Jack Daniels but not fot $150 that it costs. (Although the bottle is very pretty). Overall it would be fair to rate this one with a solid 73 over 100. Cheers! -
Ok, this is a surprise. i did not expect to have this good experience. As soon as i open the bottle, i got this beautiful aroma on the nose, like a wine-grape-dry fruit aroma, very beautiful on the nose. There is some aroma that resembles peat and smoke although is neither, it must be charcoal which is present in its making. On the palate is very light, with this wine-grape-almond taste, with almost no kick, maybe a wooden taste also in there. it really surprised me, i like it more than most famous blends. Take it as a different experience. recommended

Invergordon Batch 2 (That Boutique-y Whisky Co.)
Single Grain — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed April 24, 2020To this date, this is by far the oldest whisky i have ever tasted. The sad part: it wasn't good enough. This is a single grain and only 538 bottles were made by an independent bottler called "that boutique and whisky company". Bottled at 47.7% abv, burnished color. On the nose it was a little dim and not very interesting. Butter, Salt, Dry grasses, Pretty salty reminds me a little like a talisker, snickers chocolate and old banana notes. The nose was actually the best part and it wasn't special. On the palate, there are chocolate type of notes: Brownies, butter, Chocolate dry cake. A slight lime note, Clove and pepper very spicy. Finish is medium and simple. Water makes it a lot better. Lots of chocolate butter on the palate. I truly recommend adding a couple of drops to enhance this dram. Without water this dram is a 70 over 100, and with water it goes to a 72 over 100. For 150+ dollars per bottle, forget about this one. -
Please do not read this review. It does not reflect on the good time i had with this whisky. Highland Park is one of my favorite distilleries, and i drank this dram and i thought this is actually not bad. But then my score system entered in the equation, and it got a 3.0 over 5.0. Here is why: The nose is good. Nothing to die for. Toffee, heather, citric, chocolate, peanuts and "dulce de leche". In the palate, it was a little "normal". Hay, peat, and water. Yep, plain water. Aftertaste was too short and watery. Dont get me wrong, i got the same watery tasting note from a balvenie 25 that i rated horrible. This is not a bad dram, but it isn't good either. 67 over 100. You can live without ever tasting this, Trust me on that. I went full bipolar on this one. Lol.

A cheaper, younger blend, that i have never before heard of, of the dimple pinch 15yo, this one is a NAS, less complex and easy drinkable. Found it in Turkey. Bottled at 40%abv, golden color. On the nose is dim and not so fun. Honey, salt, almonds, maybe some cinnamon. Not much happening in there. On the palate is very spicy, without been unpleasant. Toffee, hazelnut, cinnamon and lots of clove, that goes into the aftertaste with a little burn. Overall i give this regular dram a fair 70 over a 100, making it a 3.5 but feels more like a 3.0. Cheers!

Grangestone Highland Single Malt Sherry Cask Finish
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed April 24, 2020 (edited May 19, 2020)This whisky is hard to find.... on the internet. Actually they sell this one in any total wine in USA and they offer tastings of it inside the store, but it doesn't seem to be anywhere online to even get a picture of it, or any other of their expressions. Talking about the whisky itself this one was a fruity fellow, who had a very bizarre finish. On the nose: Lemon; very Fruity, Citric, grapefruit, lemon pie, apples, currant, green mango. Stinky and fruity. On the palate it has a very marked fresh fruit profile. Apples, pears, cereal with honey and a slight vanilla. Aftertaste is strange. Short finish, very fruity; There is something odd no bad, but not typical Like iron. Overall this is a whisky that HAS NO SHERRY INFLUENCE IN IT despite been a sherry cask finish. Boring and a little normal, you could use it instead of drinking juice, i guess. 72/100
