Tastes

Have not done a review in a very long time (just over two yrs.,wow time flies). Have killed many bottles and should have reviewed more. This one was one of the first Bookers I bought when I got into bourbon not that long ago. Of the three I have open I like this one the best. The Distiller review is pretty accurate one this one. This one has a nice crisp apple and fruit flavor with some oak and cinnamon, some sweetness too. Very flavorful and have enjoyed this one everytime I drank it. Hoping all the Bookers I have stockpiled since this one live up to or exceed this one.

Wow this has to be my favorite of all the Booker’s I have got to try so far. Nose is cinnamon and maple syrup. Taste is cinnamon and mint, then caramel, cherries and nice woody and oak finish. I can definitely sip this one for awhile.

Nice to see a New Riff product at 6 yrs. Have not had a lot of their offerings, however so far this one is my favorite. This one is so drinkable and cruising through this bottle. Next time this comes around I need to grab another one. Drinks more like a Bourbon than a Rye. Sweet, vanilla, orange zest and some chocolate with a little spice .

First Barrell product I have been able to try. Thanks Steve for letting me have the opportunity to try this one. Really impressed with this one. Nose is great on this one. You can taste the blend of the older and younger barrels in this blend. Some sweet vanilla, cherry and leather on the finish.

Two reviews in one night. On a roll and these have been two gems to review. WFP SP Urban’s Bourbon Barrel #1. This one is so smooth and easy to drink for a FP Bourbon. Flavors of honey, cherry, caramel, then oak and leather on the finish. Thanks Steve for the opportunity to drink this one.

Wow first Angel’s Envy I have tried and this one is special. Noise is like an apple orchard in the fall, taste is so unique unlike anything I have had. Very glad my friend Steve shared this one.

Need to start doing some reviews. The first Bardstown that I purchased and very glad I did. This bottle is almost killed and I will miss it. Good start to my Bardstown purchases. Good blend of the older bourbon and their younger juice. Sweet and rich with a slight wood finish.

One of the best bourbons I have had in my short bourbon drinking life of 2.5-3 yrs. This one is so complex and delicious could drink this one all day.

5yr. 57.5% Bottle 78 Barrel 3 Gallenstein Selection. Very good friend let me try this rare bottle. Impressed for a 5 yr. Nose is sweet cherry. Taste is sweet like the nose. Cherries and honey with some oak. Finishes with a just little heat.

So about 1 year now since I got into Bourbon. Need to start posting more reviews as I start to kill some bottles in my collection. This is one that has really grown on me as I finish more of the bottle (Warehouse # SS / Barrel # 37-2G). Going to miss this one but glad there are others on the shelves and accessible in OH. Nice spicy higher rye mash bill but very sweet. Fruity with cherries all day with a nice slight oak finish.
