I wish it was a little higher proof and that the mesquite smokiness was more apparent. That said, its a nice variation on the WT. Different enough from WT101 to justify the $7 jump.

This came out a little smoother and a little more balanced in terms of a sweet apple and dry vanilla. Little bit of a burn. Worth the $3 price increase over the standard ECSB.

I liked it up front, but it gets a more acidic and ethanol vibe as you go. Still a sweet, full, sticky bottle, but it is below average compared to the other Larceny barrel proofs. Needed some ice to bring out the full flavors and mellow down the heat, but over an ice ball it was solid. Great cocktail base.

Smooth and strong wheat flavors. Vanilla, cherry, oak, maple, and toffee. Needs to breathe for a bit, and then has a sweet long aftertaste. Its worth msrp, but not as good as the better larceny barrel proofs. Not as good as the weller 107 either. Its good, but definitely overhyped because of the label.

Barrel no 2085, warehouse ty-g, rick 41. Color is a very pale amber gold. Rests for a few in glencairn. A swish shows its got some thickness. Nose is buttery sweet cinnamon and maybe a smell like dusty wood chippings. Great start. Taste is buttery toffee, creamy vanilla, and dry WT fruit. Finish is solid but not long; very little burn but a nice warm hug. As a Wild Turkey fan, it checks all the boxes and is worth the $25ish jump from the WT 101, which is still a favorite daily drinker. Probably not quite as good as the RR Single Barrel or Rare Breed, but its just splitting hairs at this point. My only regret is that I took so long to try this. Cheers!

Color is pale gold. Rested for 10 in glencairn. Its hot up front due to the proof, but it mellows out very nicely. Hits with a spicy sweet honey, and stays warm but barey burning all the way through. Solid and enjoying the bottle as is. It gets smoother as it goes along. Can’t wait to try as a mixer, but completely enjoying on its own. Its on sale. I’m buying more.

Color is light amber. It looks young, but it has thick legs with a swirl on the glencairn. Sat for about 10 minutes. The nose is a woody marshmallow cherry. First taste is more of the same but plenty of warm borderline burn up front. Taste is a lot of thick maple syrup sweetness, but you taste a strong dry red rye cinnamon as well. Long aftertaste with a nice lighter warming sweetness. Ultimately its a solid drink. Looking forward to it as a manhattan base. This is a solid sipper/mixer being that it was on sale half off, but for $55-ish msrp I can name plenty of better options (Rare Breed, McKenna 10, Knob Single barrel, etc.). Its built for an ice ball, but works on its own. Warm, heavy, and sweet, its great for the season. Worth a try.

Color is a light amber gold. Thick consistency that hugs the glass. Smells like spicy cinnamon sweet raisin bread. Hits with more thick syrup texture. Taste is more of the same plus a long clean aftertaste that brings in dry fruit. Very warm but not burning. Excellent sipper.

Tasted this a few times but my first review. The color is deep brown/red. Thick consistency and sticks to the glencairn glass’ sides. Its been resting for about 10 minutes. Nose is a sweet woody maple, with a spicy red ale and mint underneath. My first thought is that the second oak barrel aging sort of overpowers the rye spice, and it becomes more of a sweet bourbon like the double barrel woodford reserve. The first sip is where the spicy red maple, and dry vanilla cherry comes in. I need to compare this with the standard rye, because theres a lot of subtle taste that the oak plays off of very well. Finishes smooth with nice sweet warmth. I think this would make an epic Manhattan. Very good and after more sips I’m getting a light creamy butterscotch. Excellent.

Color: a auburn gold. Side by side against the EC barrel proof c923 and this is more light golden. Nose: at first it was verry sweet cherry apple. after sitting for about 12 minutes in a glencairn its a roasty s’more and thick maple syrup. Strong caramel cinnamon as well. Taste: buttery french toast and and dry sour apple that stays very clean and smooth. An above average anount of flavor given the 94 proof. Aftertaste: medium length that draws in more traditional vanilla, cherry, with a toasted ash touch. Overall very sweet and the toasted barrel twist is apparent. Its a nice touch to the Elijah Craig Small Batch. Was lucky to get at msrp, and will hope to get more in the future.
