Clase Azul may still be my favorite Reposado... But this is a close second. It's a clear colored spirit, so at first i thought i bought a blanco on accident. But you can tell this was aged or mixed with an extra anejo because of the taste. It's an incredibly smooth tequila with no heat. The agave is there but not overpowering (like you might see with other patron tequilas .) the Clase has a bit more flavor, so if this doesn't have enough kick for you, give that a shot.150.0 USD per Bottle

Ordered a glass at a restaurant. I was expecting something smoother for the price; pretty complex, with a good amount of rye spice on the front. Made it tough for me to pick out more notes because the front end was rough. Now when I added a splash of water... Things for better. I got all those cherry wood and baked apple flavors others mentioned.

As others have said, the Sherry notes are very prominent... And that's why I like it. It is so unlike any tequila I've had on the palette. On the front end is the typical agave notes, but it gives way to that sherry cask very quickly. There's some heat at end when it goes down, but not very much. Big fan of this expression; and the for the price it's definitely worth sipping as an everyday pour. If you want something new, give it a shot.79.0 USD per Bottle

Canadian Club Chronicles 41 Year
Canadian — Ontario, Canada
Reviewed December 18, 2021 (edited November 20, 2022)Didn't know Canadian Club had whiskey this old! Bought my bottle from Binny's and man was it tasty. No heat due to the low proof, with a perfect combo of smoothness and flavor. The sherry and vanilla really stand out300.0 USD per BottleChicago -
One of my favorite cognacs; the only one I put above this is the Hennessy No 1 Blenders Edition. That said I haven't tried many pricey cognacs so I'll adjust this as I expand my tastings. In short, this was extremely smooth and the dried fruit notes (raisin, orange) were present throughout. No bite and zero heat. I pair so my fancy spirits with a cigar, but that was a mistake here because it wasn't the best combo. This would go great after a meal when you're ready to relax.

If you're wondering the answer is yes - it tastes like someone took a robust Tennessee whiskey and mixed it with an Irish whiskey. So on the palette, you've got the Heaven's Door heat right in your face, with wood/spice notes. but as it goes down the hatch... The heat dissipates quite a bit and you get the Redbreast smoothness (and if I had to guess, this would be a Redbreast 12) with a hint of vanilla. But to me it came in waves and not all at once which was interesting. Ultimately I imagined this would be some new and insane tasting profile; a happy marriage with little heat/spice. But no it literally tastes like someone mixed bourbon and Irish whiskey in a barrel then bottled it. I imagine if you did that at home it would taste fairly similar. Didn't hate it at all, just saying this isn't a new bold frontier of whiskey.130.0 USD per Bottle

Uncle Nearest 1820 Nearest Green Edition Single Barrel
Tennessee Whiskey — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed August 8, 2020 (edited October 16, 2022)Big fan of the brand; due to the price of this bottle, I assumed age = smoothness. But this is actually much more complex than the other Nearest editions. If you're a fan of less bite on your bourbon, throw in an ice cube or opt for the 1856 batch. I'm glad to have tried it as it tends to be hard to get, but I can't drink it straight (which I need the ability to do if I pay over $100 for whiskey.)
