J.P. Wiser's Dissertation
Canadian — Ontario, Canada
Reviewed September 11, 2019 (edited November 21, 2019)Absolutely exquisite. You cannot go wrong grabbing a bottle of this if you're able to still find it. No young heat, just silky sipping. The only thing I can compare it to is Wiser's 35 Year which is crazy.80.0 CAD per Bottle -
One of the most unique whiskys I've ever tasted; there is a spice funk to this drink that is completely unrecognizable to me. The spicy characteristic is less similar to a bourbon spicy and more akin to well spiced, savory meal. I still don't know if I enjoy it or not, but I do know that I'm going to share it with anyone who will have some because the uniqueness of this Scotch is what makes it stand out.

Four Roses Small Batch Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 28, 2017 (edited April 24, 2018)Less viscous than the single barrel but very much a comparable profile. Spiced finish and inoffensive. Very happy with this for around $45 CDN (traded for an Elijah Craig 12). -
Last Mountain Private Reserve
Canadian — Saskatchewan, Canada
Reviewed December 18, 2017 (edited December 28, 2017)Holy smokes! I was not expecting the level of complexity this whisky puts forward considering its age. The people at Last Mountain have put SK distilling on the radar and I couldn't be happier about it. Very excited for what they come out with next. (They've also bumped the ABV up to 45% which does a lot for this offering!) -
Booker's Bourbon Batch 2015-05 "Maw Maw's Batch"
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 1, 2017 (edited December 12, 2017)Incredible, first Bookers I've had and the sweet syrupy warmth is exquisite. Absolutely sticky with vanilla goodness. Buy this!
