Last Mountain Private Reserve
Last Mountain // Saskatchewan, Canada
The Last Mountain Distillery is Saskatchewan Canada’s first micro distillery located in the town of Lumsden. This whisky is a blend of sourced wheat whisky that’s been aged 4 to 5 years in used bourbon barrels then finished in new 10 gallon oak barrels. It’s currently only available in western Canada.
CanadianDISTILLED IN CANADA AND AGED IN BARRELS FOR AT LEAST THREE YEARS; OFTEN (BUT NOT ALWAYS) CANADIAN WHISKIES ARE BLENDS OF CORN, BARLEY, AND RYE WHISKIES WHICH WERE DISTILLED AND MATURED SEPARATELY. TRADITIONALLY, CANADIAN WHISKEY IS CALLED “RYE”, ALTHOUGH NO MINIMUM PERCENTAGE OF RYE-GRAIN WHISKY IS REQUIRED IN A BLEND.
Cask Typeex-bourbon and new oak
"A flood of sandalwood and cedar cigar box breath from the glass but this whisky is all about the blend of spices that are tightly knitted into one very original aromatic experience. In the mouth it is sleek and slippery, poised by an agreeable sweetness that doesn’t get too sticky. A sprinkle of ginger, cloves, honey and brown sugar play up to pipe tobacco before a confetti cannon blast of citrus pith parades through town toward the finish line."
