Tastes

So I'm a big fan of this "sulfur" element per marketing notes. Like smoke but a little bit unique and different. Plus its strength was nicely balanced by thickness and boldness of the scotch. Fruity and with that smoke twist made for a great dram.

What I would give to go back in time and stock up on this. Lovely Japanese finesse mixed with a woodsy and smooth smoke and just a hint of lingering peat. Makes most of the heated scotches feel flat footed and slow. For a 12 year, it was well refined and I sadly miss having bought only one.

Been a while since I tasted, but I remember a pretty good Irish whiskey. Fair amount of sherry. Not sure the price point was worth the contents.

Had two bottles from different distributors. One was exceptionally good and the other less so. Nice and intense expression like all Kavalan.

Had the 24 expression. Something seriously off in the bottle. Nose was terrible. Like a corked wine. Not sure WTF was happening. But terrible even when cut with water. Horrible stuff in my one experience.

No complaints. Fount lots to love including a bit of mint on the finish. Perhaps a bit pricey depending on your POV anprice point. But would repurchase, so I'm recommending.

Solid bottle. Smoke and sherry and oak. Well balanced and very interesting. Great depth. Love this expression.

Was missing the high notes for me. As a result, found it a bit flat. Interesting concept but not my favorite bottle from these guys.

I love this as a summer whiskey. Floral and citrus in spades. Interesting enough to hold it's own and still be spritely and light. Would happily repurchase a third time.

Found this harsh and stringent. Too many thorny notes. Like a mouthful of fire ants I'd imagine. Cutting with water helped smooth out a bit. But funky wood notes still present. For all the hype, I was greatly disappointed.
