Nose overwhelmingly of wood smoke and ash with hints of oak and caramel. The initial impression is oak resin and vanilla with a strong smoke flavor with hints of bacon and cheese. This opens to tones of stronger oak, pencil shavings and sooty smoke that lingers for a very generous period of time. A very peaty Smokey and complex dram that is an exceptional value.

Blanton's Original Single Barrel
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed July 9, 2019 (edited July 22, 2019)Nose dominated by maple syrup and butterscotch with oak and fresh cut grass. Initial tones of spices, cloves, leather, and oily butterscotch with honey. The final tones are of toasted oak, and malt with a somewhat antiseptic edge that hurts the otherwise great finish with hints of tree sap and very mild wood smoke. Overall pleasant with satisfying complexity. -
The nose is very straightforward and is primarily just ethanol with hints of oak and sweet corn. The palate is primarily spicy cloves and sweet vanilla. It lingers only briefly closing with mainly hints of oak and sweet corn with a medicinal alcohol flavor dominating. A very simple, non-memorable but drinkable dram.
