Tastes

For those who like Canadian whisky, I'd say this is a good alternative. Very sweet and soft in style, with some spice in the finish (rye content perhaps?) but moderately priced compared to the purple cloaked king of Canadians. I don't really see much of the bourbon in here and wish they were more forthcoming with the source, but we are talking American whiskey, so we know that won't happen.

This is not what I'd call a true rye, but something totally unique. It is by far the "sweetest" whiskey I've ever had, minus the flavored liqueurs masking as whiskey that are so popular these days. Fantastic notes of sweet baking spices (particularly cinnamon), toasted nuts and sugar cane make for a great dessert pairing whiskey. Very polarizing in my opinion, one you either love or hate. Count me in love.

Sweet smoke that is about as peaty as I care for at this stage in my whisky appreciation. Sweet aromatics of heather and toasty oak vanillin follow on the palate. Lovely stuff.

One of my favorite after dinner drams. Honey, vanilla, hint of carmelized banana and a touch of spice (maybe nutmeg) in the finish. Smooth and silky.
