Tastes

Very similar to Maker’s 46. Both finished with ten toasted French oak staves. But this not only has stronger flavors of spices, but also a little less bitter and astringent. Much longer finish as well.

Nose and pallet are improved from the standard and the 101. The addition of the French oak staves brings on a pleasant baking spice on the nose and pallet.

Nose: sweet but also astringent. Taste: bitter oak dominant. There is sweetness there, but it pales to the bitterness. There’s also some baking spices. * Admittedly, regular Maker’s doesn’t match well with my pallet and this one stays true to that. It is better with a rock for me.

Nice oak with sweetness throughout. I enjoyed this one quite a bit.

I don’t enjoy at all. Harsh, young. I tried to give it away at work and it boomeranged!

Nice smoke, well balanced. I have no other tasting notes at this time other than I enjoyed it.
