Glenfiddich 21 Year Reserva Rum Cask Finish
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed February 17, 2020 (edited July 23, 2020)Taste: Full complex top shelf scotch. Everything you'd hope and expect from a 21 year. The box it came in was unbelievable. Rich and full scotch, plenty of toffee and vanilla flavors stand out. A bit of banana but incredibly smooth. Would not recommend a cigar with this, you need to enjoy every sip. Had this as a parting gift from a friend that was moving out of the country. Nose: Fruity, complex, inviting and sherried. Color: close to rose gold Finish: 9, amazing scotch finish. Really builds and leaves a smooth, velvety and creamy finish. Can almost be dessert. Score: 10 on a 1-10. A huge treat. -
Taste: smooth start that really opens up with it's complexity in the middle of the palate. Medicinal, iodine taste. I must mention I'm partial to the Ardbeg Uigeadail which is my favorite peated scotch I've had thus far. Nose: Old wood, some coal gas. Simile to the smell you get when you're starting a charcoal grill with some lighter fluid. Definitely inviting for peat scotches. Lives up to the name Color: Deep amber, honey. Finish: long finish leaving a pleasant buzz on your lips which is signature of Islay Scotches. Well respected scotch but personally not my favorite. Would never pass if someone offered it to me. Score: 7 on a 1-10. Above average, a cut above most.

Taste: Fruity, some light fruit taste, maybe grapes or plums but a subtle fruit flavor. Not a bold flavor of fruit. Easy to drink. Medium bodied. Not a lot to it but an easy, medium bodied scotch which tries to have character. Initial taste is good but falls off. Nose: Sulphur, rubbery Color: very light for scotch, yellow gold. Finish: Inviting to drink again but not a long finish. Lacks in the finish, but generally pleasant. Score: 5 on a 1-10. Enjoyable, not a select scotch but wouldn't complain if it was on happy hour.

Cragganmore 12 Year
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed February 17, 2020 (edited February 22, 2020)Taste: very thin, almost taste like I've already added water but true to it's Speyside taste. Light hints of Sherry and Carmel. I do need to note the bottle I had was 2+ years. I'd say a good "starter" scotch for those that want a single malt scotch. Easy on the palate and you can chat about. Nose: Sherry, Carmel, fruitt Color: very light for scotch, Finish: refreshing, light. Good to encourage another sip Score: 1-10, 5. It's fine, not great, definitely not bad -
Nose: distinct grainy smell that whisky gives, but good notes of cocoa and butter Palate: Full bodied on the palate, malt flavor stands out. Somewhat one dimensional but a full flavored smooth finish with an appropriate hint of coffee that's not overpowering. Did not add water as drinking it neat is perfect Finish:. Leaves a pleasant lingering coffee aftertaste, great whisky for the price and consistently find myself wanting more.
