I cannot put my finger on WHY Uigeadail is a favourite of mine. Could be the peat, salt, fruit, toffee or any of the plethora of other nuances it has. One thing is certain - it is fantastic.

If you like your whiskies to challenge you with complex flavours and aromas Springbank is a good bet. The 15yo is fruity and sweet from the sherry casks balanced well with seasalt and heather. And the more you try it the more it will have to offer.

Quite possible the best value for money if you like peaty smoke. Some sweetness to balance the smoke. A classic Islay Malt!

One of the most comforting malts in that you know what you get. Briney punch of peat and smoke. Like a wooly jumper after a night by the camp fire.

A personal favourite this Japanese malt combines delicate salty peat with vanillaed toffee of the bourbon casks and fruity plums of sherry. Very well balanced, this is a real island malt...
