Maker's Mark 46 French Oaked
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 30, 2017 (edited April 24, 2018)Nose: vanilla, wood, spice Palate: oily, rich, vanilla, spice, Finish: some heat but somewhat smooth for bourbon -
This whiskey truly is a piece of history. I was waiting for a special occasion to drink it and it turned out to be a regular night at the house. The nose pits off sweet, spicy citrus at first with a little vanilla and some other fruit. Add water and the nose opens up with heavy raisins and oatmeal. The palate was chewy and fruity with most notes of raisins and slight spicy wood and vanilla. The finish was oh so smooth and the chewy, sweet raisin-oatmeal remained.

Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Select
Tennessee Whiskey — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed January 12, 2017 (edited April 24, 2018)Definitely a single barrel. Still representative of old No. 7 with the mellow charcoal, maple flavors including wood, vanilla and slight banana. The palate mimics the No. 7 but however the cinnamon is stronger and alcohol burn last longer in the burn and hits hard in the chest. -
Gentleman Jack definitely offers a smooth, gentlemanly aroma. Strong vanilla and sweet fruit fill the nose. The double matured Jack is so mellow and smooth on the palate. Fruit is the main flavor on the palate almost like banana bread with a slow, smooth burn after, almost like your not drinking whiskey at all.

Glenmorangie Nectar D'or 12 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed December 29, 2016 (edited April 24, 2018)Nose that of a dry, white wine. Some honey comes along with that wine grape aroma. Palate is interesting. Honey really comes forth with a little spice and adding to the already present white wine. Almost reminds me of a Ricola but pleasant. Later I get some slight wood and vanilla. Finish is delightfully smooth and short. -
