Tastes

Nose: As a trapper, this definitely has the musky smell of castor but not overpowering at all. Heavy maple and slight brown sugar Palate: Almost a “musky” palate, maple, vanilla, hint of “breakfast” flavors almost like bacon grease-esc. Finish: very smooth with a hint of menthol later on the palate.

Nose: resembles a lighter, non pleated islay, ethyl, almost a hint of coconut Palate: silky, dry, vanilla, the coconut hint is also in the palate Finish: slight spice, oaky, slight fruitiness

This whiskey offers not a lot of imagination for the nose. Rye and sweetness is evident with some vanilla and oakiness that you would find in most bourbons. Slightly rich with not much oiliness. Rye comes over on the palate and some antique-like flavor with some sweetness. The finish is smooth and not much heat. The remaining flavor in your mouth is the corn. Water only makes the rye more prevalent.

This american single malt is super sweet and nutty on the nose with some caramel. The palate is oily and rich with sweetness and some salt. The barley steals some bourbon quality from the virgin barrels. The finish is really smooth with some slight heat.

The overall thouggt of this whiskey is bland. Not a lot of flavors rise up. The nose on this whiskey is modtly alcohol and very light smoke and some cereal. On the palate there is some cereal and floral notes along woth some slight smoke. It finishes with some heat and some spice, overall dry and somewhat bland with some sweetness.

nose: strong smoke, peat, fruit, cereal, slight chocolate palate: smoke peaty, salty, oily, peppery finish: high heat, good burn, smoke and sweet late

When I have the whisky on my nose I am reminded of a buttered popcorn in an old theatre or Carmel popcorn on Christmas Eve. It is antique-tasting, buttery, spicy, and carmely. I also get some vegetable oiliness. There is some smooth heat in the finish.
