Knob Creek Single Barrel Select Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed May 21, 2021 (edited May 22, 2021)Initial smell is mostly caramel with little heat. Writing after a third pour. Unitas taste is sweet caramel, a bit of sweet heat, but not overpowering at all, middle tasting is of cherries and a very small hint of oak. Finishes with a little caramel and heat taste that lingers. A store pick that makes a fine sipper. Barreled on 5/24/11 bottled 12/2/20. Willett Pot Still Reserve Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed May 19, 2021 (edited May 20, 2021)Has a bit of upfront citrus and almost lemon taste, a bit zesty. Overall a smooth finish with some caramel, but not a ton of oak or char in this one. It’s not bad, but maybe not worth chasing if it’s difficult to come by either.42.0 USD per Bottle -
106 proof store pick. The smell is cinnamon, oranges, caramel, and a bit of wood. Tasting it brings out some spicy cinnamon, oranges, maple, and caramel. There’s a bit of up front burn but it quickly gives way to the fruit and caramel taste. Finishes with a bit of heat and oak.99.0 USD per BottleMax's Bottle Shop

Old Forester Single Barrel Bourbon 90 Proof
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 4, 2021 (edited June 29, 2021)Newly released store pick. Upon opening there is a strong aroma of grapes and caramel with a slight hint of maple. After a second pour, there is definitely an initial grape and fruity taste, along with some caramel, but really no maple taste. The middle continues with an orange and grape flavor with hints of caramel. The finish is pretty smooth, slightly sweet oak with just a hint of ethanol. Could also probably be used as a decent mixer to create a different flavor profile.47.0 USD per BottleDunwoody Beverage -
Weller Special Reserve Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 3, 2021 (edited April 11, 2021)Was excited to try Weller, this being the SR version I knew it was the youngest of the batch and it definitely feels like it. Smells includes hints of fruits and oranges, but some ethanol smell. Tasting reveals the same orange and slight caramel texture, little wood or oak in the mid palate, and definitely has some younger, lighter ethanol burn on the back of the palate. Worth a try for the experience, but maybe more as a mixer. To me, not worth the chase that it’s attracted recently. Hopefully the other versions of Weller are more refined and smooth.28.0 USD per Bottle -
Barrel 9684, bottled 3-24-10. Has some slight orange and caramel scent with a bit of ethanol on the nose. Tasting is initially a little burn, but then quickly changes to some orange, caramel, and oak notes. The finish is long with a little oak, cinnamon spice, leather, and a bit of burn at the end. Decent for an occasional sip. Evaluated after 3 pours.50.0 USD per Bottle
