Jack Daniel's Gentleman Jack
Tennessee Whiskey — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed February 17, 2016 (edited March 8, 2016)Bought for me by Carlyn for Valentines Day Fberuary 2016. Same day we went to Dalwhinnie. First tried that night. First impressions, more 'manufactured' than the malts ive tried so far. Good after taste! Second impressions: definitely better as air got into the bottle, but, still a better aftertaste than actual taste -
Dalwhinnie 15 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed February 17, 2016 (edited February 19, 2016)Bought on 14th February 2016 whilst at Dalwhinnie distillery with Carlyn. Bought for £34.95 with a glass tumbler for £6.99. Second distillery I have visited. Freezing! Snowing whilst there and white all around! Got to keep the tasting glass as well which was a bonus! Enjoyed the tour very much, goes well with milk chocolate velvet truffle! First tried that night, first taste is amazing! Soft and subtle, fruity and ... Follows! Tastes just like the distillery smelled! Would give six stars if i could, favourite so far! -
First tried on Saturday 23rd January2016 with Carlyn at the Settle Inn pub. Lovely atmosphere definitely helped. First 'peat monster' tried. I described it as 'drinking a bonfire', now ive thought on it more, its like 'drinking a peated bonfire'. Nonetheless i really enjoyed it! Something new and exciting. Could have done with a bit of water. Alongside a pint of Settle Inn House Lager which helped both drinks. House Lager is excellent! If i could would give 4.5/5.

Monkey Shoulder Blended Malt
Blended Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed January 24, 2016 (edited January 29, 2016)First tried on Saturday 23rd January 2016 with Carlyn at Settle Inn pub. Lovely atmosphere definitely helped. Little bit left over in bottle so barwoman very kindly just poured the whole lot in! Citrusy - orange citrus - and very slightly nutty. Alongside a pint of Settle Inn House Lager, went very well together! Had this dram before tackling Laphraoig!
