    Nippy Sweetie Sample -- after my flatmate drank my bottle, I luckily had a sample as a backup. It did not fail to disappoint - the briny sweetness you expect from Port Charlotte releases with that more subtle, slightly chewy peat smoke texture - a trip to Islay

    I held off on this sample I had out of a belief that colouring should not be added to whisky's, there's no denying it's a smooth, fruity easy drinking whisky. The separation of part of it into sherry casks is evident and helps soften the overall character - no water is needed

    Picked this up in a tiny little village in northern Germany. Not overly impressed, the peat is quite subdued and not in the standard sense you get from aged barrels. No real impact

    Should be a staple dram in every whisky cabinet, even if only to act as an introductory whisky for newcomers. Delicious

    Picked this up shortly after attending a tasting presented by the legend Jim McEwan before his retirement. The high ppm can throw some people but stay with it and it will take you on a journey; the smell, the feel, the taste and the extraordinary finish.

    Was very excited to buy a bottle when it came out being a fan of both IPA's and whisky, so maybe I built it up too much in my mind. Didn't do anything for me, wasn't able to determine a difference with an ordinary Glenfiddich 12 ... might need to do again as a side by side tasting
