Reviewed April 1, 2020 (edited May 8, 2020)Pepper, honey, wood spice, dried apricot, musty vanilla, toasty malt, herbaceous, brown sugar. Banana smoothie: banana, oats/malt, cinnamon, honey. Spicy, sweet, musty finish. A little thin but easy drinking. -
Teacher's Highland Cream
Blended — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed March 29, 2020 (edited November 1, 2020)Pears, vanilla, camp-fire smoke, earthy root vegetables, cream, pepper, malty sweetness, cinnamon Christmas spices. Slightly thin flavour on the tongue, sweet, then some spice and short lingering smoke. Pleasant to drink, not necessarily impressive but great value. -
Laphroaig Quarter Cask
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed March 27, 2020 (edited April 14, 2020)Iodine, ashy smoke, sweet pear, spicy wood. Hot spice on the tip of the tongue, full body sweetness, smokey iodine and slight sea salt finish. -
Glenfarclas 105 Cask Strength
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed March 26, 2020 (edited May 6, 2020)Christmas spices, treacle, cake, dark berries, honey, vanilla, musty wood, dark chocolate, burnt toast, dense malt, caramelised oven roasted carrots/sweet potato. Adding a dash of water brings out body of sweet chocolate, toffee, plum pudding with custard. Sweet and smooth on the tip of the tongue, followed by hot spices, slight smokiness, long woody finish. -
Cutty Sark Prohibition Edition
Blended — Scotland
Reviewed March 25, 2020 (edited February 25, 2021)Salted toffee/caramel, slightly briney, dense malt, peppery horseradish, musty wood spice, dried fruit. Smooth, oily sweetness with strong spicy wood and smokey finish.
