Virginia Distillery Co. Port Cask Finished Virginia-Highland Whisky
Blended Malt — Multiple Countries
Reviewed October 2, 2022Nice drink. Peat, dark cherry, spice, oak flavors. Mild heat. Make a nice, smooth way to end a week. Give this a try, even if you don't like scotch. At $50 a bottle, there are better American malt whiskey and scotch. Woodford malt, Monkey Shoulder, Tomatin and a couple of Glenlivet's. Get it on sale. If you're in Virginia, wait for next year's Virginia Distillery sales. Nice discount!50.0 USD per Bottle -
Note...Wheat Whiskey (not bourbon). Not complex, almost boring. My bottle was aged 4 years, 90 proof. 60% wheat, 30% rye, 10% malted barely. Sweet. Caramel, vanilla, mild spices. Short finish. Thin mouth feel. If your beginning to enjoy a dram of whiskey or whisky or bourbon okay, give this a try. Get it on sale only. At this price there's many better spirits. Virginia.35.0 USD per Bottle

Virginia has an annual sale on Virginia Spirits. I was surprised how much these bottles are marked down. Gave me an opportunity to purchase product that's normally above my price point. Farm to distillery product. The rye and corn (wheat?) are grown on their farm. Aged 4 years, beautiful auburn color. Nice oily feel, smooth. Cinnamon, maybe vanilla buttercream. Finish with clove and honey. Price listed is not the sale price.42.0 USD per Bottle

Give this a try, perhaps wait for it to go on sale (I did). Pretty darn good. Mix of "best" barrels of Old Forester, creates a nice surprise. Brown sugar, vanilla, black cherry with a nice spice from the rye. Cheapest of their "special editions". Price below was not the "sale price".45.0 USD per Bottle
