Ancient Ancient Age 10 Year
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 23, 2018 (edited August 3, 2021)At Condados. I’m on day 23 of 30 days of bourbon. I’ve had nearly all the higher end bourbon offerings currently in stock. So I went with what others have said is a bottom shelf gem. Not a bad pour for $4, but not complex especially for a 10 year. Thin on the nose and palate with almost a watered down taste. Hits the tongue almost like water. Even though drinking neat. No heat or burn. And a finish that lingers for a little more than a moment. Odd taste at the front... saline? Not as sweet as expected. I can’t imagine seeking this out or having it in stock for my home bar.4.0 USD per Pour -
Rebel Yell Kentucky Straight Bourbon (Discontinued)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 19, 2018 (edited January 16, 2019)Light gold. Young. Thin without any legs to speak of. Wheated. Okay. Not spectacular which is what I expect from Heaven Hill. Better wheated bourbon for a few dollars more. Still good and decent for under $20. Low proof at 80. Good hostess gift idea.16.99 USD per Bottle -
Tasted at the distillery in November 2017 during a bourbon trail Long weekend. I could not believe this was a 2 year old rye whiskey. Great whiskey. The best whiskey we had all weekend. It is pricey for sure. Single barrel store pick I found was actually even better than barrel proof from the distillery.
