Larceny Small Batch Kentucky Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 25, 2019 (edited January 2, 2020)Love this bourbon as a sweeter option. I pick up caramel and burnt sugar on the nose. Very faint vanilla but this bourbon reminds me of a dessert. The palate is more sweetness with almost like a hard fruity candy followed by vanilla and cinnamon. For me I pick up a slight baking spice which leads into a quick finish. Overall, love this bourbon if I'm looking for something sweeter than normal and would reccomend as a starter bourbon. This bourbon was enjoyed neat as all bourbon should.30.0 USD per BottleABC Fine Wine & Spirits -
This was my first bonded bourbon and I'm not disappointed for the $20 price point. The nose leads off with strong vanilla followed closely by cherry and burnt sugar (the type you find on top of creme brulee). The first sip was everything I was expecting, vanilla forward with caramel making an appearance mid way through and oak spice to cap off the finish with subtle hints of vanilla and cherry. Surprisingly smooth for a 100 proof and the finish was rather quick. I did get hints of cinnamon on the finish as well. I would gladly stock this as a daily sipper for days I'm looking for a lot of vanilla sweetness. This bourbon was enjoyed neat as all bourbon should.20.0 USD per BottleABC Fine Wine & Spirits

Maker's Mark 46 French Oaked
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 8, 2019 (edited November 12, 2019)The nose comes off sweet and delicate with caramel as the dominate note. It drinks much spicier than the nose would lead you to believe. Initial taste is vanilla and brown sugar then, mid palate I'm getting a dry note note, specifically flour. Finish to me had a good amount of spice for a wheated bourbon but not so much that it turns me off. Finish was fast to medium. I don't get any chocolate flavors as the expert reviewer did This was enjoyed neat as all bourbon should. -
Angel's Envy Bourbon Finished in Port Wine Barrels
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 4, 2019The nose starts with the smell of a dry wine with hints of vanilla sweetness and a slight rubbing alcohol smell. The palate keeps this alive with vanilla and spice up front with a touch of nuttiness and fruitiness that I can’t place. The finish to me is interesting because once you get past the barrel spice I'm picking up dry wine on the finish with a touch of sweetness to remind me this is bourbon. Personally I feel this bourbon is over hyped but it could be just me. This bourbon was enjoyed neat as all bourbon should. *update* enjoyed this pour outside tonight and it’s night a day better. Moved the score from a 3.0 to a 3.5. Would be a solid 4 but I’ll be drinking inside most of the time. -
This is the epitome of a daily drinker for the price point and complexity. I can honestly see why buffalo trace products in general are getting harder and harder to find. It's because they produce dam good bourbon. This being one of their entry level offering (aside from benchmark and old charter) is my go to daily sipper. It has a soft floral and sweet nose. The taste is not your average bourbon flavors (while present) with fruit sweetness and a slight orange peel that lead to a rush of big red chewing gum between the sweetness and cinnamon flavors. Finish is quick to medium with barrel spice and more cinnamon and an added touch of corn sweetness (first time I picked up the flavor in bourbon). Solid entry bourbon and hell, better than a lot of higher priced ones as well. This bourbon was enjoyed neat as all bourbon should.32.0 USD per BottleViva Liquors

Elijah Craig Barrel Proof Bourbon Batch B519
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed October 31, 2019 (edited November 11, 2019)While I was let down by the hype of the normal Elijah Craig small batch, this barrel proof version completely redeems itself with a little more complexity that keeps me guessing each sip. The nose was rather inviting with Caramel and/or Toffee as the dominate note followed by floral vanilla and baking spices. You wouldn't be able to tell this is a 122 proof bourbon just by the nose. The taste is classic Elijah Craig on steroids and a lot more oily (legs for days and coats the glass and mouth nicely). To me this had less of a rubbing alcohol taste over the small batch version and more intense vanilla and caramel taste followed closely by fruit (citrus is what I'm getting). There is a good amount of spice and barrel bite but it's nicely balanced through the finish which tends to last forever on the back of my tongue with the taste of cherry cough medicine (the good stuff you wanted as a kid). Elijah Craig Small Batch Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed October 24, 2019 (edited November 1, 2019)I do find it interesting how this bites harder than most 90ish proofs I drink. I only drink my bourbons neat as I feel this is the way they were intended to be enjoyed. I would reccomend this as a starter bourbon to people just getting into bourbon. Not overly interesting but tried this based off raving reviews from YouTube. I was a little let down but I still enjoy this bourbon and look forward to trying the barrel proof version.32.0 USD per BottleViva Liquors
