Blue Run Kentucky Straight High Rye Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed March 28, 2022 (edited May 28, 2022)Kind of get some tobacco on the nose, spice, and ethanol. The pallet is good and spicy. Finishes warm with more spice. Can tell it’s younger but it’s fine. This is pretty good to very good. Might be rating it higher because of the name, but I’m not mad at the purchase. -
Barrell Seagrass
Rye — (bottled in) Kentucky, Multiple Countries
Reviewed March 28, 2022 (edited April 1, 2022)Caveat….I love finished ryes. This is no exception. Super complex & sweet. I get a ton on the nose. So much apricot on both the nose and pallet. Then I get the spice, and it is welcomed. I absolutely love this one. Top 3 for me. -
Jefferson's Ocean Aged at Sea Voyage 23
Bourbon — USA
Reviewed March 12, 2022 (edited October 20, 2022)Why do so many people hate on this? They hate us cuz they ain’t us. :). Thought this was delicious. Very sweet. I get a lot of rye, oak, caramel. I’ve heard through the grapevine a little salt, but i didn’t get that. Anyway I really like it. -
Four Roses Small Batch Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed March 1, 2022 (edited March 19, 2022)This is a lot better than I remember it. First off I thought it was just a mixer, but the more I drink it - I realize it is more than that. It is a really solid sipper. Nose: Rye spice Pallet: very sweet up front. Cherries and rye Finish: I get a ton of oak on the finish. And rye. Overall this is good. I am pleasantly surprised, and a bit disappointed I didn’t enjoy this at first. -
Honestly thinking this might be my go to everyday bourbon. So much flavor for a 90 proof. Nose: brown sugar, oak, and vanilla Pallet: oak, leather tobacco, yet sweet. Totally get the vanilla and maybe a little caramel. Finish: finishes like a higher proof. Definitely due to the age. A ton of oak and tobacco here.

Michter's US*1 Kentucky Straight Bourbon

Knob Creek 9 Year Single Barrel Reserve
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed February 6, 2022 (edited February 18, 2022)I love this. The nose is very vanilla and oak, and that’s exactly what I get when I taste it. It’s a little hot but not for its proof. Very easy to drink. Tried this blind with Russel’s reserve single barrel, Remus cask strength, and a makers limited and this won.
