So similar to woodford double oaked. I think I may like this one better though. The finish has a little more burn than the double oaked. Very sweet and pleasant nose. Get maple syrup a lot. The pallet is much of the same. Carmel, oak are very prevalent. Finally the finish is IMO what makes this better than woodford. A smooth burn if you will. It lasts a while. Recommend.

Wild Turkey Rare Breed Barrel Proof Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 8, 2022 (edited March 24, 2022)I enjoy most bourbon neat, but find this one most enjoyable on ice. This is very oaky to me, yet sweet. Drinking on ice it’s difficult to really get a nose on it so I may have to review again on a neat pour. A very enjoyable night cap. -
This is one of the best bourbons I’ve had. Very pleasant nose - first thing I get is cherries, a little oak - honestly it doesn’t smell like a 115 proofer. The pallet is super sweet at first. A lot of caramel, but then quickly followed up by oak and dark chocolate. The finish is my favorite. It’s a very nice burn which I absolutely love. It lasts for a while too. Strongly recommend this one.

Weller Special Reserve Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 2, 2022 (edited February 6, 2022)One of my favorites. Around here more readily available than Buffalo Trace, and in my opinion slightly more enjoyable. The nose is pleasant. Get a lot of vanilla and caramel. The pallet is very sweet. Carmel and vanilla as well, and the finish is slightly hot for a 90 proofed. Get a little oak at the end. I love Weller. Was my first real try at bourbon, which is probably why. Plus it retails at $22.99 around me and pretty available if you make it on delivery day. -
This is a good bourbon. At $25 bucks you can’t beat it. Sweet on the nose. I get vanilla mostly, but some orange as well. The taste is very sweet as well lots of brown sugar for me. I do get the rye spice too. The finish is what I love the most. Definitely get oak mostly and for a 90 proof bourbon, feel it lasts longer than most, with a bit more burn than most at this proof. I just wish it was more available in my area.

Maker's Mark Private Selection Milkshake (OHLQ All-Star Collection)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 2, 2022I’m conflicted on this one. I do really like it. The finishing provides a very unique flavor profile. The proof is nice as well. That said for $70 a bottle, I think there are much better options. I’m glad I have the bottle, but won’t be going back for another. -
