Nose: medicinal peat that fades to campfire after a few min. Honey vanilla and fruits underneath. Palate: thick and rich like eating a fruit tart in an orchard by a fire. Nice long finish. Not usually a fan of peated whiskies. But my God is this good. A better Johnnie Green. Most peaty whiskies imo end up being all peat and very little else. This is a nice balance imo. Water just mutes everything. Not sure if my wandering eye will return here but this is definitely a strong recommend.

Nose: peaches apricots honey Palate: thin mouth feel not oily or "chewy" at all. Oak tannins, caramel, more peaches and apricots, honey, pinch of baking spice. Finish: medium length and dry dry dry. Like eating the fuzz on a peach. Not really a fan, even though I think it's objectively good. Reminds me of a fruitier lighter Elijah Craig, almost like a Speyside Bourbon If that makes sense? Not a repeat buy for me but I can see how others would like it.

Nose: red fruits that aren't grapes or raisins. Baking spice. Caramel. The tiniest hint of rye bread if you really dig in the glass. Palate: juicy red fruits, baking spice, caramel. Thanksgiving and Christmas in a glass. A combination of Glühwein and sherried scotch. Mouth feel isn't oily but the finish lingers. Spice and chocolate and coffee and pepper. Not dry and tannic like older stuff, but I don't think "oh that tastes young. Its available near me for $30, and imo punches at least $10-15/750 mL above it's price tag. I keep coming back to this and I continue to be impressed

Evan Williams White Label Bottled in Bond Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed July 10, 2020 (edited July 13, 2020)I know it gets a lot of praise for being a cheap budget bourbon but I found it thin with a weird sour note. Not a repeat buy for me. -
Knob Creek Small Batch Bourbon (NAS)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed July 10, 2020 (edited July 15, 2020)Middle of the road, classic bourbon. Neat I get mostly barrel char with the classic caramel, vanilla and spice undertones. A capful of water opens it up and makes a much more balanced drink. Gets the job done.
