Perfect harmony between sherry and peat. Incredibly complex you'll find a different experience with every dram you pour. If you see this bottle on the shelf just buy it. This is the "stranded on the island with only one" Scotch.

This whisky is the classic Alberta "rye" flavor profile: Sweet caramel and alcohol. It's very light and ridiculously easy to put back. It's pretty much a vodka aged in oak. It's made for the rye and coke crowd. Disappointing since Highwood is touting this as a craft whisky. It loses more points for calling itself a Rye on the front label only to find out it's all corn and wheat on the back label. This is typical of Highwood and they need to stop perpetuating this Canadian "rye" confusion. Step your game up Highwood.

Meaty smoke and unbaked dough. You'll spend so much time trying to place the peat flavours you won't even notice the high ABV. A really good peat forward dram for the price. I was sold on it being young Caol Ila juice but after comparing it to the 12 I think it is probably a young Bowmore, instead.
