Tastes

This bourbon tastes much younger than the rich 10 year. The smell is that of burnt sugar and char oak. The taste is cherries, vanilla, and oak. The finish is long and not bad. I would imagine this bourbon would be fantastic in a Manhattan.

Very unique but not necessarily in a good way. Misses a lot of the texture traditional bourbon brings with it. This taste primarily is sweet corn. Creates an earthy taste that feels like something is missing. The finish is uneventful. Very disappointed since Widow Jane has some pretty tasty offerings.

The charred oak and vanilla great the initial tasting. Almonds and cherries linger on the pallet. Long finish rounds out the tasting.

Very earthy flavor. Taste of peanuts and toffee. Long lasting finish with quite a bit of heat. I did not get the sweetness and oak of more traditional bourbon. A good bourbon on a cold night.

Overall, a fine bourbon. The only problem it is the little brother of some exceptional bourbon. Nice oak and vanilla up front. More alcohol on the smell than Antique or 12. A little heat on the end compared to its higher proof siblings. For $25 it’s hard to beat.

This is an incredible whiskey for the price. Upfront smooth and flavors of butterscotch and nuts. Finish with molasses and brown sugar. One of my all time favorites.

This bourbon has two very distinct characteristics. At first taste you will notice the charred oak followed by a leather and tobacco finish. Very good with a complex taste.

Very complex taste. Great combination of oak, blackberries, and vanilla. Medium finish that is warm. Really enjoyed this bourbon the second time around. Grab a bottle if you can find it.

Very carmel tasting. Vanilla followed by oak. Long finish. Pretty good bourbon coming from a craft distillery. Priced about right at $49.
