This was a spontaneous purchase do to some neat marketing. A sourced bourbon while we wait for self distilled products. Skeptical at first but i must confess (pun intended) this is a very good bourbon. Very welcoming smell full of oak, mollasses, and spice. The body is well balanced and rolls around in my glass highlighting some wonderful legs. The taste is wonderful. Sweet oak and vanilla up front while warming spices in the finish that does not weat out its welcome. At 105 proof, this is a great sipper that has classic bourbon flavors without overwhelming your pallet. Well done.

Mild nose with hints of vanilla and oak. Taste is a bit thin and not a lot of depth to dive into. This bourbon is not pretending to be anything other than it is. Sweet on initial taste. A little thin in body with an oak finish. The finish is minimal. Some have compared this to Buffalo Trace but i would disagree. It lacks the flavors of Buffalo Trace that allows it to be sipped neat. This bourbon is good for cocktails.

This whiskey was wonderful on the pallate initially but lacked viscosity. It needed a little breathing. A day later i came back to this bottle and wow! This pour is an oak bomb. Wonderful mouth coating and lasting finish. Leather,oak, tobacco, and warm spice are some of the more predominant notes. This bottle was good enough to seek another bottle.

Well blended bourbon that is meant for more novise whiskey connoisseurs . This is not a bad thing but because of it, the whikey lacks character. A very mild taste that is rather thin on the pallate. Some notes of oak, leather, and tobacco. Finish is slow and soft. Rather nice. Good bottle but a bit over priced at the $90 range.

This particular Makers is really interesting as it is very flavorful and leaves a lot on the pallet during the finish. The nose is full of oak, fruit, and cacao. Toffee and caramel are also in the mix. Upon sipping this bourbon, there is an immediate sweetness followed by a smokey presence. The smoke lingers well into the finish. The caramel taste mixed with butter is quite delicious and certainly worth the price of the bottle. I wouldn’t consider the finish to be long but it is very pleasant.

First time with Hidden Barn. Heard some good things.Overall, this tastes very young. On the nose you can smell corn with some light oak. Taste is where the youth really shows. Corn is the predominant flavor with some caramel and oak. It’s not complex or indulgent. The finish is long and warming. Not sure this was worth the $65 price tag but I am glad I tried it.

Oak taste in the front end with a great finish. I wonderfully warm finish but not in your face. Nice lingering tastes of cinnamon and licorice. This pick was from TSR and proofed at 116.8. This has to be the most pleasant surprise in a rye.

This is a surprising pour. Very well balanced that overshoots it’s price point. Though blended the age of the oldest barrels stand out. Great balance of oak and brown sugar and graham crackers on the nose. Taste is of vanilla wafers, oak, honey, and a hint of chocolate on the finish. The body is oily and quite the mouthful. An excellent pout that goes under the radar.

Pleasant bourbon. Nothing fancy just a traditional style bourbon. Oak and vanilla up front. Lingering finish.
