    Lovely sample. A lot of stonefruit, some honey/caramel. Love the sweetness and sherry fruitiness. It’s not too mellow, but works well with the flavorsz

    For a 21 year old, I really hoped for a bit more. Slow and long legs, plenty of oil. Caramel, honey, green apple, some banana and general fruitiness in the nose. Slightly toasted wood, orange rinds and warming honey. Long woody aftertaste in flavour. Very mellow in general. Lovely lingering aftertaste

    A surprisingly smooth and easy drinking Irish blended whisky. Nothing too exciting, but easy drinking. Straight oak and a bit of vanilla.

    Seems like an obvious choise for an Islay whisky. Quite subtle, peat is definitely there, but accompanied by a lot of vanilla, caramel, deep fruity flavours of fig and dates. Bit of milky chocolate in the background.

    32°C - chilled in the fridge prior to pour. Sample bought in Edinburgh. Smooth and quite some apple upfront. Lots of caramel, hint of vanilla and quite some oak. Lingering fruity after taste.

    Had high hopes for this Whisky. Bit sharp upfront with quite some iso-amylacetate and ethyl acetate. Opens to plenty of vanilla and oak, but not a lot more than that to me. Fruity and apple-ish after taste, quite harsh. Bourbon and Sherry barrels are not obvious to me.

    By no means anything close to the 15 yo Double Cask I had earlier, but similar deep notes of true oak and vanilla. Bit harsh in the nose upfront, but that quickly makes way for that lingering, fruity goodness of wood and vanilla. Probably the best 12 yo I had!

    Long and quickly forming legs. Quite thin. Very gluey and sharp on the nose. Just some slight wood and vanilla, almost a bit charred. Taste is a bit friendlier, oak and a touch of caramel, almost a standard fruit profile. Sharp, long but very warming finish. Tobacco, vanilla, oaky.

    Bought as comparison to the Glenfiddich Cask Select. Fruity nose - apple/pear/peach. Mainly a woody taste, bit of buttery caramel, slight vanilla. Not too exciting tbh. Doesn’t linger. Packaging looks great though!
