Just a bit short of perfection. It's age balances out the smokiness and provides a citrusly/lemony taste mixed with the salty brine of the sea. I usually prefer the smokiness of the 10 but is perfect when my taste buds are yearning for something more comfortable.

My favorite non Islay peated whisky. Maybe more balanced and better choice whisky for those who don't like the in the face smokiness of most Islay whisky's.

Varies slightly year to year because of the cask strength but you have to luv the in your face power and taste from this whisky. Not as balanced as a William Larue Weller or Pappy but simply delightful.

Neck to neck with the Pappy's, but without the insane histeria. Buffalo Trace's best, balanced whisky.

I consider all the W L Weller's too be absolutely brilliant and THE best bourbon for the price. Smooth honey tasting baby "Pappy's".

My favorite everyday Scotch. If you like a peated, smoky Islay, this one is the most balanced classic Islay in the $-$$$ category.

The old KBY354 is excellent . Unfortunately I can't say the same of its Heaven Hill replacement KBY 1. A lingering sour aftertaste.
