Oak & Eden Bourbon & Spire -Toasted Oak
Bourbon — (bottled in) Texas, USA
Reviewed December 13, 2018 (edited March 2, 2022)On the nose I pick up cinnamon, vanilla, and oak. It has some mellow spice. You can taste caramel and butterscotch at first and the finish is long with flavors of cinnamon and a bit of pepper. Not as rich and sweet as I was expecting. -
Prichard's Distillery Double Chocolate Bourbon
Flavored Whiskey — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed December 11, 2018 (edited November 1, 2021)Disappointed. The nose has a fantastic chocolate sweetness with vanilla and honey. However the taste is harsh. Was expecting something rich and sweet, but it’s dry, astringent, herby, and peppery. -
Weller Special Reserve Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 8, 2018 (edited December 9, 2018)Thought it was just ok. Mellow and sweet with a touch of spice. Couldn’t put my finger on it, but felt like it was lacking in flavor. Didn’t care for the aftertaste. One and done for me. -
Interesting story here. It’s distilled and aged in Kentucky for 3 years, but bottled in Scotland, then imported and distributed out of Houston. At the price it’s a solid bourbon. Sweet on the nose. I picked up vanilla and raisins. The taste to me seemed younger than it’s age, a bit harsh at first but mellows to a sweet spice. I tried it neat and it seemed to lack flavor, then added about a teaspoon of water and it mellowed it to taste the sweet spice. Good mixing bourbon too. At the price it’s worth a try.

TINCUP American Whiskey
Other Whiskey — Indiana (bottled in Colorado), USA
Reviewed November 23, 2018Blended of a high rye bourbon and single malt whiskey. Nose is sweet and fruity with hints of chocolate and vanilla. Taste starts rich and smooth and finishes with a slight dry bite. Great for sipping neat or on the rocks.
