Tastes

I recently got to try a pour of this in Nashville with a really good friend of mine. In the top two bourbons I have tried. Thick and syrupy rich. I love this bourbon. Seems to almost have a maraschino cherry taste in there some where.

Sweet on the tip of tongue. Spicey going down.

Sweet on the front and a little spicy going down. Seems to get nicer after letting it sit a few.

Vanilla on the nose. Earthy but nice. I would also say moss...mossy. Reminds me of moss covered earth,.and smooth.

Vanilla and alcohol on the nose.Sweet on the lips and tip of the tongue but has a pretty big burn on the way donwn. Sweet and spicy. Just opened 3 years after bottling.

Little too spicy for my taste on the front end. Has a nice smooth finish and an even nicer lingering aftertaste.

My favorite whisky out Tennessee. Has a sweet butterscotch with some spice on the backside. Has a little burn but not too bad. It is somewhat hard to come by unless tou are in the area. It is smoother that the Dickel 12 and always seems to have a better flavor than the Barrel Select. A couple of differt places around Nashville carry it. Accidentally killed a bottle with my neighbor one night. So it goes dow surprisingly well.

So far my favorite Irish whisky..

Nice one to have on hand when people come over. It suprises them and keeps them out of the better stuff. "If you only know Jack you don't know Dickel" Been known to covert Jack drinkers.
