Another bottle I’m coming back to again for a taster. Nose - sweet, some vanilla, leather. Picking up something else maybe fruity or floral but subtle Taste - sweet and complex. Starts off sweet and a bit fruity. Smooth finish long lasting on the tongue with some cinnamon that eventually gets a little bitter. Overall and value A super smooth and complex 10 year bourbon for around 30$? Yes please! This is a very solid bourbon. My only issue is it’s availability and allocation. Very hard to find in my area. Solid choice for all bourbon lovers.

Revisiting this one again after a few weeks to open up. Nose - cinnamon, vanilla and cherries Taste - starts really smooth and oily on the tongue. Get some honey and more cinnamon with a smooth burn as a finish. Overall and value To be readily available and under 30$ to be so enjoyable and drinkable this one is pretty solid. Value being its better than many 30$ bottles I’ve had and more complex. This will be a bottle to keep in your stock for sure.28.0 USD per Bottle

Old Elk Blended Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — (bottled in) Colorado, USA
Reviewed April 21, 2020 (edited May 13, 2020)Revisiting this one with a little bit of water after having it opened for a month now. Nose - sweet and vanilla candy sugary smell. Taste- starts sweet, mellow and smooth. Ends with a smooth very light heat and hints of maybe a cinnamon candy. Price and value - overall this bourbon is not going to be one of my go to drinks. It is not easy to find and price point of around 50$ with a pretty standard alcohol content. The bottle, topper and extra pour spout (if acquired in gift set) are all pluses for style points. The bourbon itself is good and smooth but nothing unique to me. I would add value if it was a cheaper price point and more available. -
George Dickel 13 Year Bottled in Bond Tennessee Whisky (Fall 2005)
Tennessee Whiskey — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed April 21, 2020Revisiting this one again now that my bottle has opened up and oxidized more. Nose - nuts is the first thing I noticed with some honey and oak. Peanuts prevails here as the primary note to the nose and it’s just very unique smell. Personally love the way this smells Taste - has that classic dickel taste and so much more. Peanuts, caramel and honey all come to my palate. Starts a little bitter and smooths out in the finish as an oaky peanut oily taste. Price and value I have seen this bottle as cheap as 28$ and as expensive as 100. Seems to be mostly available around 40$ but getting harder to find. For a bottle under 50$ I feel this is an outstanding buy. Highly recommend for something different that won’t break the bank.28.0 USD per Bottle -
A readily available wheated bourbon for under 30$? Yes please! Found the nose on this one to be pretty typical. Smells like a sweeter bourbon maybe some sugar sweet notes. Taste is sweet and ends in a slight oak with very little spice and heat. Having trouble pin pointing all the different flavor notes in this one both neat and OTR but it is quite good and complex for it to be so cheap. This will be a go to bourbon in my collection for sure. This is very good.25.0 USD per Bottle

Elijah Craig Small Batch Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 19, 2020 (edited May 18, 2020)This is just good bourbon. Smell is great with small notes of leather and maybe tobacco with a slight ethanol. Taste to me is honey, vanilla, and oak at the beginning then settles into a robust smooth oak, leather and very small hint of pepper spice. This is a great bourbon for a beginner or an enthusiast. Very easily drinkable neat and on the rocks. Really enjoying this one as a go to bourbon that is easily available under 30$. Found ranging from 24 - 30$ in my area.26.0 USD per Bottle -
