On the nose the rye spice and malt from the mash are extremely up front and present. The sweet notes are overshadowed by the peppery notes. Upon the mouth swish, notes of pepper and rye fill the throat with a banana nut bread taste present. The malt, rye spices, and black pepper notes linger in the throat creating a pleasant burn similar to that of a good Canadian Rye. Complex and pleasant. On the nose its a honey and vanilla bomb with some traces of the rye grain. Upon mouthing and swishing, the nose picks upon black pepper, and more rye grain mixed with heavy honey and a green apple. In the throat, the rye and black pepper notes are more prevalent with a mint or sage note also evident. The honey and vanilla are faint. Nasally, the notes are fleeting but linger in the throat and fill the tongue with the oak and pepper. Nose 2/5 as the notes are simple and mild, Taste 3/5 as more complex layers of tastes show up and have a lasting finish. A very pleasant whisky that is easily crushable and would likely go extremely well as a rye and ginger. Overall 3/5 Repurchase: Yes Type: Daily Drinker/Mixer

Very mild on the nose with vanilla and mild caramel up front. Gentlest hints of rye spices and very subtle green apple and honey. Mouth swirl provides almost nothing nasally with all the flavor accumulating in the throat. Flavors of rye spice, black pepper, oak, and subtle caramel present. Taste dissipates quickly. Overall impression is of a uncomplicated, young, low proof whisky. 2/5 as a score and this may be generous. Repurchase: No

On the nose immediate aromas of caramel, vanilla, apple, and raspberry. Tasting fills the nose with caramel and vanilla, but pepper and a light citrus also becomes apparent. In the throat, caramel, vanilla, honey, orange peel, and black pepper are dominant notes. The flavor lingers in the throat and release subtle notes of rye spice, and banana nut bread. Very crushable. On the nose, molasses and black pepper feature heavily with vanilla and a Madeira brandy note also present. Faint but also present are notes of apricot or unripened mango. Upon tasting, the mouth swish does not fill the nasal passage with many notes. Vanilla, molasses, and black pepper notes feature in the nasal passage but these dissipate quickly. The swish fills the throat with vanilla, black pepper, and apricot but also dissipates rapidly with very little alcohol burn. Overall nose and taste 2/5. Very simple and typical low proof offering. Nose is full of honey, vanilla, and a slight green apple. Not much caramel or spice picked up. Tasting it the mouth swish fills the throat with the vanilla, and honey and the caramels come out filling the throat with a slight rye spice also present. Nasally the swish is very mild and very little infiltrates and lingers but the honey and vanilla. Overall impression - nosing equates to the tasting with vanilla and honey high in expression with caramel and other notes being hidden in the background and only expressed in the throat. On the nose I get caramel and vanilla and not much else. Extremely basic. However, once tasted the flavors hit the nasal passage and fill the throat with white and black pepper. The vanilla and caramel remain and open up the throat with a slight peanut shell flavor. The flavor dissipates quickly in the nose, but remains for minutes in the throat. Overall experience would be at best 1.5/5 upon smelling very basic, but a solid 3/5 on the taste as it opens up and lingers in the throat with the slightest of burn.
