Very well-balanced bourbon. Not astringent, just the right amount of sweetness. It's a great value being age stated 7 years old and barrel proof. 4 grain mash bill. I get some similarities to Michters Barrel Proof bourbon. Very impressive being made by the distiller (i.e., it's not MGP, etc.). Full flavor, nothing weird. Recommended!

The nose is a good bourbon profile, brown sugar and fruit. The flavor is mainly fresh corn, minimal oak. Short finish with modest oak. Reminds me a little of Doc Holliday, but proofed down. Easy drinker, not tannic or ethanol-ey. I don’t think the price is justified by the quality of the bourbon. I had some PVW15 after, and it was more enjoyable by quite a bit. Do better, BT.

Very fruit forward, especially tropical fruits on the nose. Much like the 8 year, so a better value given the price difference. Worth getting a bottle but not paying much more than MSRP.

Extremely well balanced, with a warm oak profile that doesn’t overwhelm. Soft on the palate with an aroma that beckons you to sip and enjoy. Pretty much a perfect bourbon.

I think this is the best bourbon I have ever tasted. There are layers of delicious flavors and aromas expressing themselves as I work through this dram. Not overly oaked. No age funk. It belies the 114 proof with minimal heat and ethanol. Simply delicious.

I have tried the 2024 release from two different barrels. One barrel was at a restaurant and I would give it a 4.5. I then bought a bottle at the liquor store and I would give that one a 4.1 or 4.25. My bottle was not quite as rich and decadent. Both bottles had a “just right“ amount of Oak. My bottle is a bit drier than the restaurant pour. Neither bottle had the typical Beam peanut character that can sometimes be too much. For me that is a big positive. Overall, this is a wonderful sipping bourbon with no negative characteristics. *** Highly recommend ***

The flavors in this bottle were just not that great for me. For a 10 year, I expect more going on and fewer oddball flavors. For the price, there are so many better options if you want an aged whiskey.

My first pours were the best. It had a nice flavor profile that I enjoyed. Nothing jumping out, but nice bourbon flavor profile easy to drink. Now, a month or so later, I am getting a tinge of kerosene/gasoline in the flavor. It's not too prominent and I can ignore it, but IMO this flavor should not be there.

The aroma and flavor profile of W.B. Saffell reminds me a lot of Kentucky Owl Confiscated bourbon. Very similar. I give it 3.75 because it is pretty good, but not something I tend to want first. I reach for this bottle to add a little variety to my pours.
