Tasting Notes
"The nose is oaky up front, but further whiffs reveal fruity aromas of dried apricots, the sweetness of maple syrup, earthy, nutty fire roasted walnuts (shell and all), and sweet spices. This is a big, sweet whiskey with concentrated flavors of dried tart cherries, dried apricots, cocoa, nutmeg, clove, and black pepper spicy heat. The charred oak influence is playing in the background, but does not overpower the sweet, fruity, and mellow spicy flavors of the whiskey. However, because it is so rich and intense, this is a bourbon that benefits from a bit of ice or water to coax out further nuances and help it go the extra mile. "
