On the nose, strong caramel apple note. Warm, spicy. The apple shines through, and though the expert states “red apple,” i believe it to be more of a green apple and a bit of alcohol. On the tongue. Warm and the green apple steals the show, mellows a bit to an oily sweet middle to a spicy, little musty and almost musty finish. A bit of that proof comes in at the end but the apple note stays all the way through. Almost a butterscotch sweetness as well before the heat. Apple is really prevalent, but its delicious and hot. The fruit note of it lightens it up quite a bit but it definitely has that leathery old bourbon flavor. Very noce and a bit complex, a nice pour!48.0 USD per Bottle

This is my go to werknight bourbon. Its sweet, its baking soice forward, and rich and even has a bit of complexity to me. I love it neat, i love it for an old fashioned. I think it is the most versatile bourbon to me right now. The proof is great, its approachable and the warm baking spice note to it is exactkybwhat i look for. I see people say its herbal, i can see that. It gas some herbaceousness but i wouldnt be steered away from that. Its warm, its sweet, its balanced and the big boy bottle is only $59 around me. Its a great place to start and great to keep around.

The expert tasting botes are almost exactky what i taste. I get a strong orange peel note on the nose but also, a bit of heat. Nutty, cinnamon, sweet, and light. Its oily but light in the tongue, sweetness hits immediately and the orange hits again. Its bright, then it gets warm and the baking spice kicks in and it rounds out. Definitely gives a little kentucky hug, but its well rounded light and oily.139.0 USD per Bottle

Had a boozy nose with hints of cinnamon, caramel and oak. On the toungue, warm and oily then becomes almost chewy. Cinnamon and some heat, caramelnl sweetness in the middle and an almost fruity and light finish. Very rich, complex… i am still new and learning about bourbons but it has a sweetness that is so appealing, definitely doesnt feel 119 proof. It drinks easier but definitely has some gas. This is one of my new favorites, getting into higher proof

New Riff Kentucky Straight Bourbon Bottled In Bond
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 2, 2022 (edited October 29, 2022)A ton of honey and honeysuckle on the nose, vanilla and smoke. A little bit of spice and wood. Very sweet smelling. Stsrts off sweet and light on the tongue, vanilla and honey forward with some tobacco and leather, a bit of baking spice as it warms up. The proof comes through at the end but is very smooth. Tastes somehow classic nd new at the same time, very tasty for it's price. Maybe a new favorite of mine -
Old Tub Kentucky Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed July 2, 2021 (edited September 22, 2021)Honestly, my favorite cheaper bottle. It always brings me joy. The review is dead on, string vanilla and cinnamon smell, quite the spice note. It is oily, moves around the mouth in a solid piece and tingles the taste buds. Smooth, with a punch of warmth, cinnamon, smoke and a nice sweetness.19.0 USD per Bottle
